Christian preaching is the communication of biblical message for redemption and nurture of
people. Down through the ages God has used preaching to win souls, to grow the Church
and to expand His Kingdom. Yes, truly but unfortunately, preaching and preachers are
losing respect in many societies because of some problems out of which two will be
mentioned. The first is inadequate preparation for preaching while the second is when the
moral and spiritual life of the preacher does not conform to the message. Preaching is hard
work and to be effective, the preacher needs to prepare prayerfully and adequately to present
the message of God. There are general principles of public communication that apply to
Christian preaching. There are also special rules of biblical exposition to guide preparation
and delivery of messages
